What frightens Goodtown looks like a model suburb on Halloween, but its old folks do not want trick-or-treaters. You sneak into their houses to take candy against their will, past deadly traps set in the dark rooms, and have to survive long enough to get away.

Content: traps, peril.

Goodtown Halloween Run is a short first-person horror game by Marianne's Itch games and Nixys, made in seven days for Scream Jam 2025. You go trick-or-treating in a not-so-model suburb whose old residents want you gone, collecting candy, disabling deadly traps and surviving long enough to escape. It is a pay-what-you-want download for Windows on itch.io.

About Goodtown Halloween Run

Goodtown Halloween Run is a first-person horror game made in seven days for Scream Jam 2025 by Marianne's Itch games, with code by Marianne Letourneau and assets by Jonathan Sevigny. It placed 70th for aesthetics and 92nd for enjoyment of the jam's ranked entries, and it is a pay-what-you-want download for Windows on itch.io.

It is Halloween in Goodtown, a suburb that looks like a model town, with a welcome sign, carved jack-o'-lanterns on every lawn and red autumn trees. You set out with your candy bucket, but the old folks who live here do not want you around. To fill your bucket you have to go into their homes and collect candy against their will.

The houses are dark and dangerous. Deadly traps wait in the rooms, and you have to spot and disable them while staying out of the residents' way. A candy counter keeps track of your haul, and the goal is to survive long enough to escape with it.

It is drawn in a low-poly, retro style with a warm Halloween palette of oranges and reds. A post-jam update made puddles less damaging. It suits players who want a quick, tense trick-or-treat game for Halloween night.
