What frightens Based on the 1988 cult film: grinning alien clowns land in the small town of Crescent Cove and hunt its people with popcorn guns, shadow puppets and cotton-candy cocoons; as a human you scramble through dark streets and woods, hiding and fighting back while hunting for a way out before you are wrapped up and harvested.

An online asymmetric horror game based on the 1988 film Killer Klowns from Outer Space. Three players are alien Klowns harvesting a small town's people, and seven are the townsfolk trying to escape or fight back. It is horror played for gaudy, darkly funny scares.

About Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game

Killer Klowns From Outer Space: The Game was developed by IllFonic and Teravision Games and released on 4 June 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is built on the 1988 cult comedy horror film by the Chiodo Brothers, with its candy-coloured alien clowns and circus-tent spaceship.

In each match three Klowns work together with weapons such as popcorn bazookas and cotton-candy rays, wrapping humans in cotton-candy cocoons and carrying them off to be harvested. Seven humans spread through Crescent Cove searching houses and shops for weapons and the items that open an escape route, such as a boat or a bridge out of town. Humans can fight back with what they find and free friends from cocoons.

The horror is the film's kind: menacing and absurd at once. Klowns peer through windows, leap out with giant mallets and chase you down fog-lit streets, while the dread rises as the town's escape routes close one by one and the circus tent glows over the trees.

It is online only. A private match against human bots lets you practise as a Klown, but there are no Klown bots or offline mode, and player numbers on PC are small, so matches can take time to fill. It suits fans of the film and of games like Dead by Daylight and Friday the 13th: The Game.

As a human, search buildings for weapons, healing and the items an escape route needs.
Avoid groups of Klowns, fight back with what you find and help teammates out of cocoons.
Get to an escape route and use it before the Klowns catch you.
As a Klown, hunt with your teammates, cocoon humans and carry them off before their friends free them.
