Luto is a first-person psychological horror game by Broken Bird Games about death and grief. You play someone unable to leave their home, and every attempt to escape leads deeper into a labyrinth where nothing is as it seems.

About Luto

Luto is a psychological horror game by Broken Bird Games, a small studio from Gran Canaria, published with Selecta Play and released in July 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Its store page opens with one line: this is a story about death.

You play a person who cannot leave their own home. Every attempt to get out takes you somewhere further from the familiar rooms, into enigmatic places with labyrinthine paths full of secrets, where the line between reality and fiction is hard to find. The truth, the makers warn, has many faces, and you might not like the one you find.

The fear here is quiet and personal. The game is built around the void left by the absence of a loved one, the despair that grows from it, and the anxiety and depression that come day after day. The store promises unsettling terror around every corner and darkness that does not only live in the shadows, and it warns that the game depicts anxiety, depression and suicide.

It suits players who like slow, story-led first-person horror set in one house that keeps changing, in the line of Layers of Fear and Visage, and who want a game about loss more than one about monsters.

How to play Luto

  1. Buy it on Steam or the Epic Games Store for Windows, or on the PlayStation Store or Xbox store for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.
  2. Start the game and explore your home in first person.
  3. Look for a way out of the house; each attempt takes you somewhere new.
  4. Follow the paths and secrets you find to learn the truth behind the loss.
