What frightens corpsepile's short game about something that scared the maker as a child. You come home alone at night to a note from Dad: the garage fuse is broken, the motion sensor may make the garage door stick, and you must make sure it's closed before you go inside, in a dark low-poly garage with headphones recommended.

make sure it's closed is a free, very short first-person horror game by corpsepile about a childhood fear. Left a note by your parents, you have to check that the garage door is really shut on a dark night before you can go inside.

About make sure it's closed

make sure it's closed is a short horror game by corpsepile, the itch.io maker of The Open House and Run to Nowhere. In the maker's words it is a short game about something that used to scare them as a child.

It opens on a note. Dear Alex: Mom and Dad have gone to dinner with the Russells, the fuse in the garage is broken, so the motion sensor might make the garage door get stuck, and you should make sure it is closed before you go inside. They left money for pizza. Then you are in the garage at night, a car parked under a single light, the big door behind you and the dark around it.

The game is small and minimal, low-poly with pixel text, and its fear is the ordinary kind most people remember: a garage at night, a door that will not quite behave, and the walk from there to the lit house. The page recommends headphones, and the sound does much of the work.

It takes a few minutes, is free to play in the browser, and has downloads for Windows and macOS. The maker notes that some browsers have WebGL trouble that makes the game too dark; if so, try another browser or the download.
