Not on PlayStation. s.p.l.i.t is on Steam, PC and Linux. It is not in the PlayStation part of the site you came from.

What frightens You sit at a 1990s-style computer in a cramped, grey shack, typing real commands to plant malware in an unethical superstructure while your crew talks you through it on IRC. The machinery hums, the room is filthy and dim, and the store warns of strong horror themes, violence, self-harm and suicide as the night goes on.

Content: self-harm, suicide, violence, strong horror themes.

A short horror game from Mike Klubnika, the maker of Buckshot Roulette. You play a hacker in a grimy shack who types real command-line instructions to break into an unethical electronics superstructure while chatting with fellow technicians, as the night turns darker.

About s.p.l.i.t

s.p.l.i.t is a short narrative horror game by Mike Klubnika, the developer of Buckshot Roulette and Unsorted Horror, released on Steam in July 2025 for Windows and Linux.

You are a technician in a cramped, grey room wired with old machines. With your crew on an IRC chat, you plan and carry out a malware attack on a facility the store calls a superstructure of unethical electronics. Almost all of the game happens at the keyboard: you navigate directories, run programs, crack passwords and execute commands in a command prompt that works much like a real one, while the chat feeds you intel and the mood of the room shifts around you.

There are no monsters and no jump-scare corridors. The horror is in the setting and where the night leads: a filthy shack, a hum of machinery, a growing sense that this job will cost far more than planned, and themes the store warns about directly, including self-harm and suicide. Reviewers praised its atmosphere and writing; some found the command-line learning curve steep.

It suits players who liked Buckshot Roulette's grim style, anyone who enjoys hacking games, and fans of short, dark stories that can be finished in an evening. Players who dislike typing or reading will find it hard going.

  4. Work through each hacking step the chat describes, from cracking logins to planting the malware.
  5. See the night through to one of its endings.

Tips

  • Read the chat carefully; most of what you need to type is explained there.
  • Use the help and list commands whenever you are unsure what a program does.
  • Take it slowly; reviewers who rushed hit more roadblocks.
  • Read the store's content warnings first if self-harm or suicide are hard subjects for you.
