What frightens Trapped inside a cabin, your group plays a game of cards to unlock clues to the exit, but every card can change the cabin around you and set off events: screenshots show a gaunt man in a hallway scrawled with Welcome to Reality, a grinning monkey creature seizing a player and friends slumped headless at the card table, and the maker warns of blood, gore and strobing lights.

Content: blood and gore, flashing lights, jumpscares.

the cabin game is a first-person co-op horror game for one to four players by Twisted Corridor. Locked in a cabin, you play shuffled cards to reveal clues and build out its rooms, while each card can twist the cabin and unleash events and creatures on the group.

About the cabin game

the cabin game, written in lower case by its makers Twisted Corridor, entered Early Access on Steam in August 2026. One to four players are trapped inside a cabin, and the only way out is through a game of cards.

You sit at a round table and play the hand you are dealt. Cards unlock clues hidden through the cabin, and the players lay out its rooms as the game goes, so there is no fixed map; a careless early placement can come back later. The deck is shuffled every game, so each hand plays out differently. In the final hour the group chooses whether to escape together, die together or each look after themselves. Candy earned in play buys outfits, lobby items and tricks to use on friends at the Boo Factory.

The store warns that the cards you play can alter the cabin and have environmental consequences. Screenshots show what that means: a gaunt, grinning man in a corridor scrawled with Welcome to Reality, a huge monkey creature with bared teeth grabbing a player, and friends slumped headless at the card table. The maker warns of occasional blood and gore and of strobing and flashing lights.

Players compare it to the board game Betrayal at House on the Hill crossed with Phasmophobia, call it creepy and replayable, and some report crashes and motion sickness in this early version. It suits groups who like board games and want the table to turn on them.

How to play the cabin game

  1. Gather up to four players in the lobby and sit down at the cabin's card table.
  2. Play the cards in your hand to unlock clues hidden around the cabin.
  3. Lay out new rooms as the game progresses, thinking ahead about where they go.
  4. Deal with the events the cards set off, and keep each other alive.
  5. In the final hour, find the exit and decide whether to escape together or alone.

  • Talk through each card before playing it, since any of them can change the cabin around you.
  • Players say it gets easier once you learn what each card does, so expect early losses.
