What frightens Caroline takes her sister, whose nightmare drawings come true, to a clinic in a remote Chilean mountain town, where smiling staff hide a nightmare: bladed crawling things and armoured abominations in a convent, a derelict mall and a school, and a darker other side of reality.
Content: gore, violence, body horror, religious imagery.
Tormented Souls 2 is a fixed-camera survival horror game from Dual Effect in the tradition of 1990s Resident Evil and Silent Hill. Caroline Walker brings her sister Anna to a clinic in the remote Chilean town of Villa Hess, and has to fight, scavenge and solve puzzles through the town and its nightmarish other side.
About Tormented Souls 2
Tormented Souls 2 is the sequel to Tormented Souls (2021), made by the Chilean studio Dual Effect and published by PQube. It was released in October 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Months after the events at Wildberger Hospital, Caroline hopes for a normal life with her sister Anna. But Anna is haunted by visions of violence and death and draws them, and the drawings come true. Hoping for a cure, Caroline takes her to a clinic hidden in the mountains of southern Chile, near the town of Villa Hess. Behind the serene staff lies something sickening, and the sisters are pulled into a new nightmare.
It plays like the survival horror of the 1990s, by design. Fixed camera angles frame each room, you can choose tank controls, saves are limited, and an inventory grid holds keys, notes and the makeshift weapons you modify, from a nailer to a chainsaw. Puzzles ask you to examine, combine and connect objects, and a power to switch realities lets you change the past to reshape the present. The town opens up a convent, a derelict shopping mall and an abandoned school, each with new monsters and bosses.
An assisted mode makes it easier for players new to the style. It suits fans of classic Resident Evil and Silent Hill who want a new game made the old way, and anyone who enjoyed the first Tormented Souls.
How to play Tormented Souls 2
- Explore each area from fixed camera angles, picking up keys, notes and items for your inventory.
- Examine and combine items to solve puzzles, and use the other side of reality to find new paths.
- Fight monsters with makeshift weapons such as the nailer, and save ammunition for the threats you cannot avoid.
- Save at the limited save points, or choose the assisted mode for a more casual game.
- Track down what is happening at the clinic and in Villa Hess, and find a way to free Anna.

Tips
- Read every document; puzzle clues are often in notes and drawings.
- Do not fight everything; walking around a monster can save ammunition for a boss.
- Upgrade and modify your weapons when you find the parts.
