Trench Face is a horror RPG by Pulse Blue, made with RPG Maker and released on Steam and itch.io in September 2025. It is set in an alternate history of the First World War.

You wake up hours after a battle with no memory of what has happened since. The trenches are deserted, there is nothing but corpses, and unexplainable objects move high up in the sky. Your goal is to escape to the forest and regroup with your comrades, finding clues along the way to what happened and why you are here.

The trenches are dungeons to explore, full of secrets, shortcuts, locked rooms and supplies. Hanging figures patrol them, each with its own movement pattern, and the store's advice is to scavenge and avoid them: with stealth you can hide and slip past almost all of them. If a fight starts there is no running away. Combat is turn based with a timed attack system, and guns let you aim at individual limbs. Each monster has its own strengths and weaknesses, worked out like a puzzle. You are not a hero; resources run out fast, and you craft ammunition and healing from scraps. At the start you choose one of three classes: the Raider for close combat, the Sniper for guns, or the Medic for healing.

Its screenshots are stark and high-contrast, in single colours on black: gas-masked soldiers hanging from wires, a skeletal creature in blue, a red figure with a bayonet. It suits players of Fear & Hunger or CONSCRIPT who want trench horror with hard choices about every bullet.

How to play Trench Face

1. Buy it on Steam or itch.io (Windows).
2. Choose a class: Raider, Sniper or Medic.
3. Explore the trenches, searching for supplies, scraps, shortcuts and locked rooms.
4. Watch each patrolling monster's route and hide or sneak past when you can.
5. When you must fight, time your attacks and aim for limbs, then craft ammunition and healing from scraps.

Tips

• Avoid fights you can: once a fight starts there is no escape.
• Learn each monster's weakness before you engage it.
• Keep scraps for ammunition and healing; supplies run out quickly.
• Note locked rooms and come back later for the loot.
