About Assessment Examination

Assessment Examination is a free short horror game by Wenderly Games, which describes its work as survey horror. It opens with a polite note: thanks for applying to the Authenticity Assessment Department, and good luck on your examination. You will need it.

The whole game is the exam. On a curved, grainy CRT screen you answer multiple-choice questions by clicking, from the ordinary (how did you hear about this position? word of mouth, newspapers, or a dream) to the personal (do you fear God, do you fear death, do you have people you love). Between them you are shown old photographs of faces to mark as trust or threat, and pieces of footage with their faces blacked out.

The dread grows from the form itself. The questions narrow, the images become wrong, and fragments of other material start to interrupt the test, such as a phone call to an emergency line, until it becomes clear that the department is not checking documents.

It can be played on this page in about ten to fifteen minutes, or downloaded for Windows or macOS. It suits players who like analog horror, unsettling questionnaires and stories told through a single strange document rather than through exploration.

How to play Assessment Examination

1. Click Start and choose whether to play in fullscreen.
2. Read each question and click one of the answers.
3. When a face or scene appears, judge it, for example as trust or threat.
4. Keep answering until the examination ends.

Tips

• Play in a dark room with sound on; the mood depends on the static and the audio.
• Read every question slowly; small changes in wording are part of the story.
• Press F if you want to switch fullscreen on or off.
• Watch the edges of the screen and the images closely; details slip in between the questions.
