What frightens An animator trapped in an ink-flooded cartoon studio that has gone mad sneaks past re-animated abominations made of ink, and hides whenever the lights flicker and the grinning Ink Demon comes hunting for her.

Content: jumpscares, violence, disturbing imagery.

Bendy and the Dark Revival is a first-person horror game from Joey Drew Studios and the sequel to Bendy and the Ink Machine. You play Audrey, an animator trapped in a warped, ink-soaked version of her studio, who must sneak, fight and solve puzzles past ink monsters while the Ink Demon hunts her.

About Bendy and the Dark Revival

Bendy and the Dark Revival is the second full game in the Bendy series by Joey Drew Studios, the makers of Bendy and the Ink Machine. It came to PC in November 2022, to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in March 2023, and to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch in July 2025.

Audrey works late at an animation studio when she is pulled into the Ink World, a twisted copy of the old Joey Drew Studios built from 1930s cartoons gone wrong. Faded posters of Bendy, Boris and Alice smile from the walls, and the halls are full of re-animated creatures of ink, some of them the studio's own former workers.

It is a larger game than the first. Audrey has a weapon she can upgrade with the powers of the ink, so some enemies can be fought, but stealth is at the heart of it: you sneak behind creatures, hide in its hiding spots, and solve puzzles to open the way. Above all, when the screen darkens and ink drips from the walls, the Ink Demon is near, and the only answer is to hide until he leaves.

Its look is sepia cartoon lines on dark, wet ink. It suits fans of the first game and of mascot horror like Poppy Playtime, who want something longer and more varied.

How to play Bendy and the Dark Revival

  1. Explore the Ink World in first person, collecting supplies and items and reading the story's audio logs and notes.
  2. Sneak up behind ink creatures, avoid the ones you cannot handle and fight with your upgradable weapon when you must.
  3. When the lights flicker and ink spreads, hide quickly; the Ink Demon is coming.
  4. Solve the studio's puzzles to open new areas, and upgrade your gear with the ink you gather.

Tips

  • Learn where hiding spots are in each area before you start exploring it.
  • Spend your ink on upgrades that help you sneak and survive, not just fight.
