The first free-roaming Five Nights at Freddy's game. You play Gregory, a boy trapped overnight in Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, who must last until 6 AM with Glamrock Freddy's help while the other animatronics and a security guard hunt him.

About Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach is an official entry in the Five Nights at Freddy's series, made by Steel Wool Studios and published by ScottGames. It came out in December 2021 on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, then on Xbox in November 2022 and Nintendo Switch in April 2023.

Instead of sitting in an office watching cameras, you move freely through Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex, a huge mall of arcades, bowling, mini golf, a racetrack and backstage tunnels. You play Gregory, a young boy locked in after closing. Glamrock Freddy, who is on your side, lets you hide inside him and gives advice, but the other animatronics, Glamrock Chica, Roxanne Wolf and Montgomery Gator, are under orders to find any intruder, and so is the night guard, Vanessa.

Your Faz-Watch shows the security cameras so you can see where the hunters are before you move. You sneak, throw things to draw them away, duck into hiding spots as they walk past, and run when they spot you, reaching save stations as you go. Each animatronic is fast and loud, and the bright colours of the Pizzaplex make the dark backstage areas feel worse.

The game is longer than the earlier entries and has six endings depending on what you do through the night. Reviews were mixed on release, praising the look and atmosphere and criticising bugs and navigation, while Steam players have rated it well over time. A free expansion, Ruin, followed in 2023. It suits fans of the series and players who want a bright, cartoonish setting with real chase scares.

How to play Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach

  1. Start the night as Gregory and follow Freddy's directions to your first objective.
  2. Open the Faz-Watch to check the security cameras and see where the animatronics and Vanessa are.
  3. Sneak between areas, using hiding spots and Freddy's chest compartment when a hunter comes close.
  4. Collect items and passes that open new parts of the Pizzaplex, and use save stations when you find them.
  5. Survive until 6 AM and work toward one of the endings.

Tips

  • Check the cameras before entering a new area rather than running in blind.
  • Save at every station you pass; checkpoints are far apart.
  • Throw or knock over objects to pull an animatronic away from a doorway.
  • Keep Freddy charged, since he cannot help you when his power is low.
