What frightens As a new Fazbear employee you are put within arm's reach of killer animatronics: repairing them while they may wake, working in dark backstage rooms, and surviving remade Sister Location scenes where one wrong move ends in a jumpscare in your face.

Content: jumpscares, loud sounds, fantasy violence.

The sequel to Help Wanted: a collection of minigames set in the Mega Pizzaplex of Security Breach, made first for virtual reality and later playable on a flat screen. As a new Fazbear employee you tend arcade games, cook, give first aid to broken robots and work backstage, and play VR versions of Sister Location's frightening moments.

About Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2

Help Wanted 2 was made by Steel Wool Studios and published by ScottGames in December 2023 for PC and PlayStation VR2. A non-VR flat mode came to PC and PlayStation 5 in June 2024, and it reached Meta Quest, Switch and Xbox later that year.

You are a fresh hire at the Mega Pizzaplex, and the game is a run of job training stations. Some are cheerful on the surface: whack-a-mole with Bonnie heads in the Fazcade, cooking for hungry robots, painting nails for Roxanne Wolf backstage, a log ride with Captain Foxy. Others are not: repairing animatronics in dark rooms where they may wake, and Sister Location levels rebuilt so you sit inside the scenes the old games showed on a monitor.

The horror comes from closeness. In VR the animatronics loom at full size, inches from your face, and the jumpscares land right in front of you. Even the light minigames tend to turn on you, with a mascot that should not move suddenly behind you. A thread of story about the company and a mysterious presence runs through the stations for players who want the lore.

It is best for FNAF fans and for anyone who has a VR headset and wants to be frightened in it; on a flat screen the scares are smaller but it is still a varied set of short challenges. Younger fans should know the scares are frequent and loud, but there is little blood.

How to play Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2

  1. Pick a department from the hub: Fazcade, Backstage, Staff Only, Food Prep, the Ticket Booth or Sister Location.
  2. Read or listen to each station's instructions; most give you a task like repair, cook or perform.
  3. Use your hands, or the controller in flat mode, to grab tools and objects.
  4. Watch the animatronics around you and stop or hide when a task tells you to.
  5. Clear levels to unlock harder stations and new prizes.

Tips

  • Play with headphones; many dangers announce themselves by sound first.
  • In repair tasks, keep an eye on the animatronic's face, not just the part you are fixing.
  • Collect the hidden tokens and tapes in levels to unlock extras and story.
  • Take breaks between VR sessions; some stations are intense up close.

No. It began as a VR game, but a flat-screen mode is available on PC and PlayStation 5, and Switch and Xbox versions also play without a headset.

Is Help Wanted 2 scary?

It mixes light minigames with jumpscares; in VR the animatronics appear life-size and close, which makes it more intense.
