About A Bite at Freddy's

A Bite at Freddy's is a fan game made in Godot by Garrett McKay and released free on itch.io in October 2023, with Mac support added later that month. Its maker calls it a bite-sized Five Nights at Freddy's experience, and a session takes about half an hour.

The setting is Freddy Fazbear's Grill, and your job is a technical one: test and repair the Freddy Fast-Food Delivery machine, a conveyor that carries food out of the kitchen under a sign warning of moving machinery. Working alongside the restaurant manager, you prepare and send orders, watch their status move from preparing to sending to delivered, fix what breaks and take on the challenges each course brings.

It plays on the familiar FNAF formula. From your post you flip through ten security cameras covering the hall, the party rooms and the closets, there is a door you can enable, and a power load meter tells you how hard you are pushing the building. Keeping the orders moving while keeping track of what is happening on the cameras is where the pressure comes from. The rooms are dim, cluttered and full of party posters and old televisions, in the series' worn pizzeria style.

It suits FNAF fans who want a short, free fan game with a new job to do at Freddy's rather than another night guard shift, and anyone who likes the series' camera and power juggling in a half-hour dose.

How to play A Bite at Freddy's

Download A Bite at Freddy's free from itch.io for Windows, macOS or Linux and unzip or run it.
Listen to the manager and start preparing the first order on the delivery machine.
Send each order and follow its status until it is delivered, repairing the machine when needed.
Check the security cameras between orders and use the door when you need it.
Watch the power load meter so you do not overload the building, and finish each course of orders.

Tips

Do not leave the cameras unchecked for long while you are busy with an order.
Keep the power load low when you can; the door and the machine both draw on it.
Mac players: the download includes a troubleshooting file if the game will not open.
