Cursed Digicam is a horror game by Chilla's Art, the Japanese studio behind The Convenience Store and The Closing Shift, released on Steam in January 2025. It was the studio's first game made in Unreal Engine 5, and it looks it: the park is an overgrown, rain-soaked playground among concrete apartment blocks, with a dome climbing frame, rusty slides and animal spring riders.

The setup comes from the store page. A strange website sends you a digital camera made by a medium. Upload photos of spirits taken with it, the site says, and you can free your loved ones. Your daughter was last seen at the nearest park, so you go there with the camera.

Play is looking: through the viewfinder you search the park, its toilets and shelters for faces that are not there to the naked eye, peeking from behind doors and inside the play equipment. Your daughter left phone numbers to call, and calling them gives you hints, which is the game's way of nudging you on. The store also warns that an unexpected visitor might turn up.

It is short, 60 to 90 minutes by the store's count, with a single ending. Players who liked photographing the dead in Fatal Frame, or the quiet everyday settings of Chilla's Art, will find both here in a compact form.

How to play Cursed Digicam | 呪われたデジカメ

1. Buy it on Steam and start it on Windows; the store says the game needs a DX12-capable PC.
2. Walk through the park in first person and raise the camera to look through its viewfinder.
3. Photograph the spirits you find hiding around the playground, toilets and buildings.
4. Call the numbers your daughter left when you are stuck; she gives hints.
5. Keep going until you find her; there is one ending.

Tips

• Check every hiding place through the viewfinder: the faces do not show to the naked eye.
• Use the phone hints rather than walking in circles.
• Supporter content is on by default and can be turned off in the main menu.
