About Fears to Fathom - Woodbury Getaway
Fears to Fathom is an episodic psychological horror anthology by Rayll Studios in which each episode tells a short story narrated by the person who survived it. Woodbury Getaway, the fifth installment, came out on Steam for Windows in September 2024.
You play Sydney Harper, a 23-year-old who works at a consulting firm. She plans a weekend away with her college friends at a rental in Woodbury, a small town in the snow, and the store says only that they did not know what was about to unfold during their stay, and that Sydney survived because she made the right choices.
Like the other episodes, it is mainly a first-person narrative walking simulator: you explore, drive the snowy roads, fish, pick up pizza, talk with your friends and the people of the town, and read texts from other characters. The fear comes slowly out of ordinary routines, with the sense that something is watching or wrong long before anything happens. The store lists player voice activity among its features.
It suits players who liked the earlier Fears to Fathom episodes and other quiet, slow-burn horror built from everyday life. Each episode stands alone, so it can be played without the others.
