Horror Legends is an online asymmetric horror game from October Games for 2 to 6 players. One player is the Legend, a supernatural killer, and the others are a cast of strangers who scavenge, sneak and fight to survive the night. Bots fill in for solo play.

About Horror Legends

Horror Legends was made by the small studio October Games and released on Steam in September 2021. It is a player-versus-player game in the line of Dead by Daylight, with a B-movie streak: zombie pumpkins, punk rockers, chainsaws and killer dolls all turn up.

In each match one player picks a Legend. Each Legend plays differently and changes the whole round: some have a deep pool of health and are hard to face head-on, some send minions after the cast, and some keep rising from the dead until the cast completes objectives tied to that Legend. Legends can end a fight with a brutal finishing move.

The rest of the players are the cast, a group of strangers with their own strengths and loadouts. Their one aim is to survive, and the game leaves the route open: gather supplies and slip away, or find weapons and make a stand. Matches play out on handmade maps such as a vandalized farmhouse, a maze of wrecked cars and dark forest, and parts of each map change from round to round.

The fright is in the cat-and-mouse: sneaking past a hunter you can hear but not see, then a sudden chase. It is gory and loud rather than slow and quiet. Bots can fill in for solo and team matches, and a free demo with one cast member and one Legend works with the full game.

How to play Horror Legends

Choose to play as the Legend or as a member of the cast, then pick a character.
As the cast, explore the map, gather supplies and work on the objectives that let you escape or beat the Legend.
Stay quiet and out of sight when the Legend is near, and run when it finds you.
As the Legend, use your own abilities to track the cast down and finish them.
Spend the Fate points you earn on loadouts, skins and extras.

Learn what each Legend needs; some cannot be stopped for good until the cast completes that Legend's own objectives.
