What frightens A starving castaway finds a fast food restaurant that appears on his island each night; its staff act as if nothing is wrong, one customer is out for blood, and a manager calls from somewhere deep below. Blood, corpses, body horror and human sacrifice, per the store's warning.

Content: blood, violence, body horror, corpses, human sacrifice, strong language.

Manny's is a short first-person horror adventure by Bonemeal Productions. A castaway starving on a desert island finds a fast food restaurant that appears after dark, and has to work, eat and survive inside it while learning what the place really serves.

About Manny's

Manny's is the work of Bonesaw577, the one-person studio Bonemeal Productions, released on Steam and itch.io in October 2023. AMATA Games brought it to Nintendo Switch in February 2026, PlayStation 5 in March and Xbox Series X|S in April.

A castaway is running out of food on a tiny island. On the edge of death he wakes one night to find a fully stocked fast food restaurant standing on the sand, its neon sign lit. Inside, the employees behave as if nothing is out of the ordinary, one customer is bloodthirsty, and a manager calls out from the bowels of the building. The question is whether he will get his last meal or become the meal.

The game alternates between day and night. By day you scavenge the island and fish, with more than twenty kinds of fish and a button-mashing reeling minigame. By night you go back into Manny's, take on odd tasks and wander deeper into a restaurant that stops making sense. Its makers call it a cinematic adventure: much of it is told through scenes, and reviewers note that its horror is quiet dread rather than jump scares, set off by the contrast between cheerful fast-food routines and what lies under them. There are two endings and a secret level.

Steam's content warning lists blood, violence, body horror, corpses and human sacrifice. XPN Network put its length at under two hours.

It suits players who like strange, short work-shift horror such as Happy's Humble Burger Farm or Kiosk, and an odd low-poly look.

How to play Manny's

  1. Explore the island by day and look for anything to eat.
  2. Fish from the shore: cast, then mash the button to reel in before the line's tension runs out.
  3. When night falls, walk into Manny's and talk to the staff.
  4. Do what the restaurant asks of you, and look around for clues to what is going on.
  5. Follow the story deeper into the building to reach one of the two endings.

Tips

  • Watch the tension bar while fishing; mashing too hard or too little loses the catch.
  • Talk to everyone in the restaurant more than once: the staff's odd answers carry the story.
  • Look for the secret level after your first ending.
