Pathologic Classic HD is the restored edition of Ice-Pick Lodge's original Pathologic, a first-person psychological survival game. As one of three outsiders you have twelve days to save a strange steppe town from a lethal plague, while you starve, ration medicine and decide whose pain to ease.

About Pathologic Classic HD

Pathologic is Ice-Pick Lodge's first-person survival game, first released in 2005. Classic HD, released on Steam in October 2015, restores the original with a new English script and voice-over, restored text that had been cut from the international version, updated textures and higher resolutions, and fan-made Polish and Italian translations. It is the original game, not Pathologic 2, which reimagined it in 2019.

The town crouches on a far steppe around a monstrous abattoir and has grown strange over generations. When an unknown and always fatal disease breaks out, three outsiders come: a ruthless investigator sent by the authorities, the Bachelor; a surgeon with odd gifts looking into his father's legacy, the Haruspex; and a girl rumoured to heal, the Changeling, who is haunted by what happened to her. Each has their own story, and the three are tied together.

You have twelve days. Time keeps moving and events happen whether you see them or not. The town is open from the first day. You talk to its people, take on their requests and barter, rob or steal for food and medicine, all while keeping yourself fed and your immunity up as the infection moves from district to district.

The horror is despair rather than shocks. Its makers promise no jump scares and no cartoon villains, only a town dying around you and choices where good deeds may not help. It is long, slow and demanding, made for players who want a strange, heavy story and do not mind an old game's rough edges.

Choose one of the three healers; each has a story of their own.
Explore the town freely from the first day and talk to its people to learn what is happening.
Watch your hunger, health and immunity, and keep food and medicine on you.
Barter, take on requests, or rob and steal to get what you need.
Decide each day where to go and whom to help; events go on without you.
