You play Roman, a train conductor who wakes in a surreal dimension called the Gloom after a panic attack, and must solve its puzzles and survive its abominations to escape.

About Post Trauma

Post Trauma is a survival horror game by Red Soul Games, a small studio of fans of old-school survival horror, published by Raw Fury and released in April 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The makers describe it as a homage to the genre's classics of the PS2 era, built in Unreal Engine 5.

You play Roman, a tormented train conductor voiced by Togo Igawa, who wakes after a terrible panic attack in a surreal dimension called the Gloom. It is a place of horrifying architecture and nightmarish abominations. Roman can defend himself with an array of weapons or look for the path of least resistance; not every enemy has to be fought.

Puzzles are the heart of it. The store promises escape-room puzzles for players who want a challenge, that ask you to study your surroundings carefully and find hints and tools in unexpected places, and it recommends keeping a pen and paper beside you. The play is framed the old way: fixed camera angles, save rooms, and limited saving on hard mode.

The Gloom is not as lonely as it first seems. The story is told from several perspectives, across seemingly unrelated settings, with a fully voiced cast and a score by Nicolas Gasparini (Myuu).

It suits players who miss fixed-camera survival horror and like puzzles that make them take notes, in the line of Tormented Souls and Silent Hill.

Tips

Keep a notebook beside you: the puzzles are built around clues you have to remember and combine.
You do not have to win every encounter; avoiding an enemy can save your supplies.
On hard mode saving is limited, so use save rooms with care.
