What frightens A fog swallows Hinako's small mountain town in 1960s Japan, and red flowers and grotesque creatures take its streets. She has to face the monsters and solve puzzles to get through, while the story keeps you unsure whether what she sees is real, her imagination, or something out of the town's old beliefs.
Content: graphic violence, blood and gore, torture, child abuse, bullying, gender discrimination, drug-induced hallucinations, partial nudity.
SILENT HILL f is a psychological horror game set in 1960s Japan. As schoolgirl Shimizu Hinako you search her fog-covered hometown of Ebisugaoka, solving puzzles and confronting grotesque monsters, in a story by Ryukishi07 with five endings.
About SILENT HILL f
SILENT HILL f is a new entry in Konami's Silent Hill series, developed by NeoBards Entertainment and released in September 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It is a self-contained story: the town, the characters and the setting were made for this game, and you do not need to know the earlier ones.
You play Shimizu Hinako, a high school student struggling under the pressure of what others expect of her, in the small mountain town of Ebisugaoka in 1960s Japan. A sudden fog rolls in, the town goes quiet, and her home turns into a nightmare. Hinako wanders its narrow streets and paths, solving puzzles and facing horrific creatures to survive. Small shrines, called hokora, are places to stop along the way.
The story is written by Ryukishi07, known for Higurashi and Umineko, with creature designs by the illustrator kera and music that includes pieces by Akira Yamaoka. It plays on doubt: friends speak in cryptic lines, and you are never sure whether the strange events are real, Hinako's imagination, or something born from local beliefs. The world mixes beauty and horror, with red flowers spreading over grey streets and 3D sound that makes movement behind you feel close.
Your first playthrough always ends the same way. From the second onward your choices shape the ending, and there are five in total. A later update added an easier difficulty for players who want the story with less pressure. The game shows violence, torture, child abuse and bullying, and is rated for adults.

- If the fights are getting in the way of the story, try the casual difficulty.
