The Cabin Factory is a short horror game by International Cat Studios, published by Future Friends Games and released on Steam in December 2024. You play a newly hired inspector at a factory that builds log cabins, and your job is to decide whether each one is haunted.

Every round works the same way. A cabin stands in a bright warehouse; you walk inside and look over every room. If it is safe, you go back to the console and press Clear. If you see an anomaly, the rule on the console says to turn back immediately and press Danger. Any movement means the cabin is haunted. A row of lights counts your progress, and a wrong call sets you back.

The horror is the attention it asks of you. You learn what a normal cabin looks like, then spend each visit waiting for a door, a chair or a figure to be not quite as it was, and the game knows you are looking. The makers name The Exit 8, Pools and P.T. as their inspirations, and it shares their loop of the same space repeated with something changed.

It costs little and takes about an hour, which makes it a good first anomaly game, or a quick one for players who have finished The Exit 8 and the Observation Duty games.

How to play The Cabin Factory

1. Buy it on Steam for Windows and start a shift at the factory.
2. Walk into the cabin in front of you and look over every room.
3. If anything moves or looks wrong, turn back at once and press Danger at the console.
4. If the cabin is normal, return and press Clear; get enough right calls in a row to finish.

Tips

• Spend the first clean cabin learning its rooms well; every anomaly is a change from that.
• Hold Shift to run when you need to leave a cabin in a hurry.
• Do not linger once you are sure something is wrong: the rule is to turn back immediately.
