The Scourge (Tai Ương in Vietnamese) is a first-person horror puzzle game made by the Vietnamese studio Rare Reversee with Beaztek. It spent time in Early Access and left it on 28 March 2026. It draws on Saigon's urban legends from the 1990s and on the rooms of an ordinary apartment block of the time: tiled floors, family altars, a moped parked in the hall.

You play Nhat Huy, a man who made mistakes in the past and is now haunted by a sinister supernatural force. Overwhelmed by grief and delusions, he keeps falling into nightmares, lucid dreams where he knows he is dreaming but cannot trust what he sees. A rundown apartment during an unnamed epidemic is where it starts; from there the corridors twist and the past comes back in pieces.

Play is exploration and puzzles. You collect items, read documents and solve puzzles to open new areas, with no weapon to defend yourself. The fear comes from the dreams themselves: familiar rooms bent out of shape, red light, funeral rooms and altars, and something that follows the family.

It suits players who liked the folk and family horror of Devotion or Detention and want the same weight of local belief, here from Vietnam.

2. Pick up items and read the documents you find to learn about Nhat Huy's family.
3. Use what you find to solve the puzzles that open the next area.
4. Stay alert in the nightmares: you have nothing to fight with.
