You Are Grounded is a short first-person horror game by Romooll with REVVALUTION Studio, released on Steam for Windows in October 2024. The maker says it is his first game, made at 14, built from his own teenage experiences and fears.

You play a stubborn teenager whose parents have punished him and locked him in his room, calling in a nanny to keep an eye on him. It is night, Halloween is in full swing outside, and a news report on TV says a maniac in a clown costume has escaped from prison.

The game moves through the story as you find and use objects, listen to what the other characters say and follow clues around the house. The screenshots show lamplit rooms, a TV news broadcast, a figure under a sheet in the dark, a garage lit by a lighter, a shower curtain full of red balloons and a grinning clown. You can also carve a pumpkin.

At about 50 minutes it is a single-evening game. It suits players who like slasher films and want a quick Halloween night story told from inside a family home.

How to play You Are Grounded

1. Start in your room and look around for things you can pick up and use.
2. Listen to the TV and the other characters for clues about what to do next.
3. Follow the story through the house, using items to get past what blocks you.
4. Survive the night as the clown closes in.
