Dark Hours is a co-op survival horror heist game for one to four players by Piece of Cake studios. Your crew breaks into a building to rob it, the power fails, and a monster that has taken over the place starts hunting you while you try to finish the job and get out alive.

About Dark Hours

Dark Hours is a horror heist game by Piece of Cake studios, released on Steam in October 2025 and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox in April 2026. You can play it alone or online with up to three friends, across platforms.

Every night starts as a robbery. Your crew picks a contract, breaks into the target and gets to work, and then the power cuts out. You are trapped inside, and something else is in there with you: one of eight monsters, each with its own abilities, strengths and weaknesses. Forget the plan; the job now is to survive and find a way out, ideally with the loot.

The heists take place in five places: an auction house, a museum, a casino, a power plant and a cruise ship. Objectives range from stealing a royal crown or rare artifacts to destroying evidence or blowing up the building. You hack doors, disable lasers and security cameras and solve short minigames with more than 50 heist tools, from scanners and EMPs to tasers and teleporters. Noise draws the monsters, so the crew has to move carefully and cover for each other, or decide to use a friend as bait.

Between heists you earn reputation with three mafia factions to unlock better gear and cosmetics, and four difficulty levels go up to a Nightmare Mode. It suits groups who like Lethal Company or R.E.P.O. but want a heist to plan around the scares.

How to play Dark Hours

  1. Buy Dark Hours on Steam, PlayStation 5 or Xbox, and start a game alone or invite up to three friends.
  2. Vote with your crew on a contract and pick your heist tools.
  3. Break in and work on the objectives: hack doors, disable lasers and cameras, and find the loot.
  4. When the power goes out, move quietly and watch for the monster; noise brings it to you.
  5. Bring the loot to the team bag, finish the contract and get out before the night ends.

Tips

  • Learn each monster's strengths and weaknesses; they do not all behave the same way.
  • Split jobs: one player hacks or solves the minigame while another keeps watch.
  • Move carefully in rooms you have not checked; every bad step can attract a monster.
  • Spend your reputation on gear that fits how your crew plays, such as scanners for scouting or tasers for getting away.
