What frightens You descend through the dark floors of an abandoned complex of concrete and metal, viewed through a grainy old terminal screen, while surreal creatures such as blood-red masses with staring eyes come at you and every bullet and pill counts.

Content: blood, disturbing imagery.

DEMON DUST is a first-person survival horror dungeon crawler played through a mouse-driven terminal interface. You descend at least six interconnected floors of a mysterious complex, collecting DUST to buy supplies and facing surreal creatures, learning a little more each time you go down.

About DEMON DUST

DEMON DUST is an indie game by PlusW Games, released for Windows on Steam in February 2026. Its maker describes it as a survival horror dungeon crawler with a unique, mouse-driven interface, in which you gain knowledge to survive and reach deeper floors.

Nothing is left around you but dust and a mysterious complex of interconnected chambers and corridors. The aim is to get to the bottom, through at least six dense floors, and, as the store page puts it, to put an end to a destructive legacy. The game is played through an old green terminal: a framed view of the corridors in the middle, your HP, a revolver cylinder and an hourglass of DUST on one side, and a column of item buttons on the other, from bullets and pills to keys, a phone and seeds.

You collect DUST and spend it on precious supplies, then go back down to face a variety of surreal creatures. Players describe fights where you aim at creatures' weak spots, levels with more than one route, and secrets and puzzles that reward the curious. The low-poly, grainy look and the cluttered old interface make the depths feel far from help.

It suits players who like the descents of Lunacid or Psychopomp, or the resource tension of classic survival horror, and do not mind an unusual interface.

How to play DEMON DUST

  1. Play with the mouse through the terminal interface: move through the chambers and look around each one.
  2. Click the item buttons beside the screen to equip the gun, take pills, use keys or other things you carry.
  3. Collect DUST as you explore, and spend it on supplies.
  4. Aim carefully at creatures when you must fight, since bullets are few.
  5. Find the way down to the next floor, and remember what you learned for the next descent.

Tips

  • Every bullet counts: aim before you fire.
  • Explore side rooms; players say levels hide secrets and more than one route.
  • Keep pills for when your HP is low rather than topping up early.
  • Learn the interface on the first floor before going deeper.
