Halloween Revenge is a short horror game for Windows by 616 Games, a small studio that makes many quick first-person horror games, often with a comic streak, such as its Poop Killer series. It is sold on itch.io for a dollar or more and takes 20 to 30 minutes.

Freddy has just got a job at a little supermarket, and his first shift is the night shift on Halloween. The store is dressed for the holiday, with pumpkins in the windows, bowls of candy, cobwebs and coffins by the counter, and customers come in wearing costumes and pumpkin masks. Then a cruel killer comes to the store, set on revenge against Freddy, who has no idea why.

You play in first person with the mouse and keyboard, moving round the aisles and the rainy car park outside, and trying to stay alive as the night turns violent. The maker draws it in a PS1 style inspired by old games and VHS films, with murky light, low-poly people and blurred textures.

The maker calls it a horror game inspired by trash horror films of the 1980s, mixing weird horror with comedy and odd characters. It has real blood and gore, such as a severed arm left among the candy, but players also describe it as funny as well as intense, and its humour is part of the point.
