Tales Beyond The Tomb - The Last Vigil is a short first-person horror game by 616 GAMES, the third episode of its series inspired by real cases. As Nick Harrison, the new night guard at Guadalupe Cemetery, you patrol the graves and the chapel through a night that is anything but quiet.

About Tales Beyond The Tomb - The Last Vigil

The Last Vigil is the third episode of Tales Beyond The Tomb, an episodic horror series by the small studio 616 GAMES that recreates, in its makers' words, terrifying experiences lived by real people, in the style of 80s and 90s horror films. It came out on Steam and itch.io for Windows in January 2025.

It is 1969. Nick Harrison has taken a job as the night guard at Guadalupe Cemetery, expecting a quiet shift. You drive in, get your instructions, and are left with a flashlight and a radio to call the boss if there is any problem. Then you walk your rounds: rows of graves under weeping trees, a wooden chapel with a crucifix lit by your torch, a fog that never quite lifts. The sounds start, your eyes start to play tricks, and the cemetery turns out to hold more than the dead. The story draws on a real cult.

The look is photorealistic under a VHS tape filter. Dialogue comes as text, a physics-based car is part of the night, and your microphone, if you allow it, lets the game hear you, so staying silent matters. Players on Steam rate it Very Positive, with some finding the search for the next trigger in the cemetery repetitive.

It suits players who liked Fears to Fathom or 616 GAMES' other trash-horror tributes and want a short night job in a graveyard.
