What frightens As Quentin, a journalist in the town of Raven Brooks, you sneak into crime scenes and the houses of suspicious neighbours to gather evidence, while the residents, each run by its own AI, guard their secrets and Mr Peterson, the original Neighbor, is still out there.

Hello Neighbor 2 is a first-person stealth horror game by Eerie Guest and tinyBuild, the sequel to Hello Neighbor. As the journalist Quentin you sneak into the homes and crime scenes of Raven Brooks to piece together what happened to Mr Peterson, while the town's suspicious residents try to catch you.

About Hello Neighbor 2

Hello Neighbor 2 is a stealth horror game developed by Eerie Guest with tinyBuild and published by tinyBuild in December 2022, on Windows (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It is the sequel to Hello Neighbor.

It picks up directly after the first game. The police arrive at Mr Peterson's house, where he had kept children locked in his basement, and the Neighbor is gone. You play Quentin, an investigative journalist, sneaking into crime scenes and people's houses for clues and evidence to piece the case together and track Mr Peterson down.

The first game had one house and one neighbour. This one opens out into the town of Raven Brooks, with several houses, each inhabited by a suspicious character run by its own AI, and all of them protecting the town's secrets. The tension is in getting in, looking around and getting out again before whoever lives there catches you.

The style is cartoonish and the rating is Everyone 10+ in the US, so it suits younger players who like being chased more than gore. It is Very Positive on Steam. Players of Hello Neighbor will know the setting; those who want to play the Neighbor's game with friends should look at Secret Neighbor.

How to play Hello Neighbor 2

  1. Buy it on Steam or GOG for Windows, or from the PlayStation, Xbox or Nintendo store.

  3. Sneak in without being seen by the person who lives there.
  4. Search for clues and evidence, then get out before you are caught.
  5. Piece the evidence together to follow Mr Peterson's trail.

Tips

  • Watch a house from outside first to learn when its owner is near.
  • Each resident behaves in their own way, so a route that worked in one house may fail in the next.
  • If you are spotted, break line of sight before you try again.
