Unbridled Horror is a first-person horror game by Aleksey Shevchenko, who publishes as Indie_RU. It came out on Game Jolt in 2018 for Windows and Mac, where it is sold and has gathered over nine thousand followers, and there is a version on Google Play for Android, free with ads.

A teenage girl wakes in a strange place. She does not remember what happened to her or where she is. The maker asks whether you will help her remember everything, overcome her fears and find the way home, or leave her alone in that ominous place forever. The game is set in a house full of mysteries, fears and unexplained things, and the maker says it is based on a true story. Its tagline reads: When he is a family friend.

The maker calls it P.T. style: you explore in first person with a flashlight, an inventory and a diary, grab and interact with objects and work through various puzzles. A dedicated key lets you close your eyes. The rooms look lived in and wrong: a boarded-up window, a kitchen table with a stool upturned on it, and a pale face with one glowing eye waiting in the dark.

2. Move with WASD and use the flashlight (F) to see in the dark rooms.
3. Interact with objects (E or right mouse button), grab them (R) and check your inventory (I) and diary (O).
4. Solve the puzzles to help the girl remember what happened and find the way home.

Tips

• Read the diary often; it keeps track of what she has found.
• Use the close-your-eyes key (V) when the game gives you reason to.
• A gamepad (Xbox 360) works if you prefer it to mouse and keyboard.
