What frightens Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed, you guard Fazbear's Fright, a horror attraction built from its remains, and one real animatronic has been found: Springtrap. You watch him creep through rooms and vents on flickering cameras while phantom versions of older animatronics leap at you and knock out your systems.

Content: jumpscares, fantasy violence.

Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is set thirty years after the pizzeria closed, in a horror attraction built on its legend. From a security office you track Springtrap through cameras and vents, lure him away with sound and keep failing systems running until 6 AM.

About Five Nights at Freddy's 3

Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is the third game in Scott Cawthon's series, released on PC in March 2015 and on Android and iOS days later. Ports for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, published by Clickteam, followed in November 2019.

Thirty years after Freddy Fazbear's Pizza closed its doors, its story has become a rumour and a childhood memory. The owners of Fazbear's Fright: The Horror Attraction want to revive the legend as authentically as they can, and have collected whatever survived: empty shells, a hand, a hook, an old paper-plate doll. Then they found one animatronic. You work the night shift in its office.

There is only one animatronic that can kill you, Springtrap. You follow him on two camera networks, one for the rooms and one for the vents, seal vents to slow him down, and play an audio lure on the cameras to draw him away from your office. The audio, camera and ventilation systems break down, and rebooting them from a maintenance panel takes time you may not have. Phantom versions of animatronics from the earlier games appear and jump at you; they cannot kill you, but they cause system failures that let Springtrap in.

The game has five nights and an extra sixth. After each night an Atari-style minigame tells more of the series' backstory, and hidden minigames decide which of two endings you get.

How to play Five Nights at Freddy's 3

  1. Sit in the office and open the camera monitor to find Springtrap on the room or vent cameras.
  2. Play the audio lure on a camera near him to draw him away from your office.
  3. Seal vents he is crawling through to slow him down.
  4. When the audio, cameras or ventilation fail, open the maintenance panel and reboot them.
  5. Survive until 6 AM to finish the night, then play the minigame that follows.

Tips

  • Keep track of where Springtrap is before you do anything else; he is the only one who can kill you.
  • Use the audio lure to pull him away from the office rather than waiting for him to arrive.
  • Fix broken systems quickly; phantoms cause failures that leave you blind and deaf.
  • Check the vent cameras as well as the rooms; he can come through either.
  • Play the minigames between nights; the hidden ones decide which ending you get.
