What frightens Thin dark creatures stalk a run of dim, blood-smeared corridors, and every simple act, turning a handle, loading a round, dialling a lock code, has to be done by hand while they close in; one death sends you back to the start.

Content: blood, violence.

A free browser horror game made for Asylum Jam 2015. You walk a side-view pixel-art corridor complex where every door handle, reload and lock code has to be worked by hand, while thin dark creatures come for you.

About Korridorer

Korridorer is a small survival horror game by 0010_Games, made for Asylum Jam 2015 and played free in the browser on Game Jolt. Its makers set out to take the simple tasks a horror game usually does for you, turning a door handle, loading a gun, entering the code on a combination lock, and make the player do each one by hand, so that they become hard exactly when something is coming.

You move a lone figure left and right through a chain of dim, grimy corridors lit by single bulbs, past lockers and red-framed doors. Between the pools of light the screen is black, and gaunt, long-limbed creatures leave smears of blood on the walls. Opening a door means grabbing and turning its handle with the mouse; shooting means feeding rounds into the gun yourself.

The tension comes from that friction. There is no menu to pause into and no quick reload: when a creature appears at the end of a corridor, you are still working the handle. Players who have written about it single out its mood and style, and also that a death sends you back to the very beginning, so each run is cautious.

It suits players who like short, mechanical jam experiments in the style of early survival horror, and who do not mind starting over.

How to play Korridorer

  1. Open the game's Game Jolt page and press Play to run it in the browser; it needs a mouse and keyboard.
  2. Walk with WASD through the corridors and watch the dark between the lights.
  3. Click and drag a door handle with the mouse to open each door.
  4. Load your gun by hand before you need it, then aim and fire with the mouse.
  5. Enter the codes on combination locks to get further; a death starts you over from the beginning.

Tips

  • Load the gun in a quiet moment, not when a creature is already in the corridor.
  • Opening doors by mouse is not listed among the on-screen controls; grab the handle and turn it.
  • Since death means a full restart, move slowly and learn each room before pushing on.

Questions

Is Korridorer free?

Yes. It is a free jam game played in the browser on Game Jolt.

Does it work on a laptop?
