What frightens Strapped to a chair in a looping room, you must tell real anomalies from Mike's hallucinations: blink, and if the burning room, the crawling thing or the bloodied men are still there, press red. Well-timed jump scares punish a wrong call.

Content: jumpscares, blood, violence, disturbing imagery.

The Floor Above is an anomaly horror game by Swytapp Games set in one room. You wake strapped to a chair, able only to turn, blink and press red or green, and must tell which of the room's anomalies are real and which are hallucinations, nine rooms in a row, to break the loop and learn Mike's story.

About The Floor Above

The Floor Above was made and published by Swytapp Games and came out on Steam for Windows in April 2026. Its makers call it not a typical anomaly-spotting game, and the twist is in how little you can do.

You wake up strapped to a chair in a living room, a number pinned to your clothes, with a green button under one hand and a red under the other. Each cycle the same room repeats, one floor higher. Something may have changed: a crawling white figure on the rug, a man with a knife among bodies, the room in flames, a woman at the window holding a sign. But not every anomaly is real. Some are fragments of Mike's imagination, so you blink. If the thing is gone, it was in your head and you press green. If it is still there, you press red and move on. Nine right answers in a row and you escape.

Narrators talk to you as you play, and they do not all tell the same truth. The store promises more than a hundred handmade anomalies, hidden phantom anomalies, strong jump scares, moments that are funny, a cat named Morty, and five endings. The first escape shows only one layer of the story.

It suits players of The Exit 8, Platform 8 and I'm on Observation Duty who want the same spot-the-difference dread with doubt about their own eyes added.

How to play The Floor Above

  1. Buy and install The Floor Above from Steam and start a new game.
  2. Look around the room by turning your view, comparing it with how it looked before.
  3. When you see something strange, blink: if it disappears, it was a hallucination.
  4. Press red if something is still wrong after you blink, and green if the room looks normal.
  5. Get nine rooms right in a row to escape, then play again to uncover more of Mike's story and the other endings.

Tips

  • Learn the normal room well on the first floors: every later change is measured against it.
  • Always blink before you decide; some of the worst sights are not real.
  • Listen to the narrators, but do not trust all of them.
