The Other Side is a co-op ghost-hunting horror game for one to six players, in Early Access on Steam. Your team investigates haunted locations with modern and traditional equipment, gathers evidence to identify the entity, and then finds and destroys the artifacts that bind it to the place.

About The Other Side

The Other Side is a cooperative paranormal investigation game by Vectora Games, built in Unreal Engine 5. It entered Early Access on Steam in March 2025 and is still being updated. You can play it alone or with up to five others online.

Each contract takes you to a haunted location. The game has two modes of work. In Identify, you use investigation tools to track activity, gather evidence and watch the ghost's behaviour until you can name its type. In Cleanse, you feed the ghost's characteristics into a device called the Spectral Affixer, which reveals where the artifacts binding it are hidden, and the team must find and destroy them to banish it.

The store pictures show what that means in practice: dark kitchens and hallways lit only by a red sign, an old institution with bathtubs and a wheelchair under red emergency light, a statue in a crypt and a cemetery at night. The team talks over proximity-based voice chat, and a dead player can still be reached through the spirit box.

Between contracts you earn money to customise your character, your vehicle and your headquarters; a bigger vehicle lets you bring more equipment. Players often compare it with Phasmophobia, and the Cleanse mode is what sets it apart.

It suits groups who already enjoy ghost-hunting games and want a second one with a different end goal, as well as solo players who like slow investigation in the dark.

How to play The Other Side

Pick a contract and choose the equipment to load into your vehicle.
Enter the location, split up and use your tools to look for evidence and ghost activity.
Watch how the ghost behaves and narrow down its type from the evidence.
In a Cleanse contract, enter the ghost's traits into the Spectral Affixer to reveal where its artifacts are.
Find and destroy the artifacts to banish the ghost, then leave and spend your pay on upgrades.

Tips

Share what you find over voice chat as you go; the store notes that success depends on how well information is shared.
Plan loadouts as a team so you do not all bring the same tools.
A larger vehicle carries more items into each investigation, so it is a useful early upgrade.
