Post-Shift 2 is a fan game by Rjac25, released on Game Jolt on 31 October 2022 after several years of work, and the continuation of his earlier fan game Post-Shift. It is set in an alternate universe of Five Nights at Freddy's that keeps Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy but takes its events, setting and themes down a different path. Rjac25 made most of it himself in Clickteam Fusion 2.5, from the code and the rendered models to the sounds and soundtrack, with more music and voice acting by Subject Illuminant and a cast of voice actors for the animatronics.

You come looking for answers to a mystery long dead to everyone else, buried under corporate power and greed. As a nightworker you start at the Compage Toys Co. facility and warehouse, a newly established business built on a grim past. The restless, reconstructed and reprised characters in its walls are the only ones who have the answers.

The nights are played from fixed views. Meters for attention, oxygen and condition sit in the corner of the screen, and a control panel runs the facility. The maker's patch notes describe what comes for you: Minater Freddy, who moves through the vents; Revenant Freddy, who must be stopped by deploying a drone at the aisle's end before he attacks; Remnant Foxy, handled with the lights module; and Minater Foxy, Remnant Chica and Minater Baby, among others. Nights also set objectives.

The maker says the game is meant to be hard, not a walk in the park, and a first patch eased the early nights after players found them too much. Because of Clickteam's limits the game comes in two parts, A and B, as separate downloads totalling about 3.4 GB, and needs DirectX 11 or 12. It suits players who have finished the classic fan games and want a long, demanding one with its own story.

How to play Post-Shift 2

1. Download both Part A and Part B from the Game Jolt page; Part B is a .7z archive to extract with 7-Zip.
2. Check that your PC runs DirectX 11 or 12, which the game needs.
3. Start with Part A and play the nights in order, then continue in Part B.
4. Each night, keep the attention, oxygen and condition meters from failing while you watch for the animatronics.
5. React to each one the way it needs, using the lights or deploying the drone in time, and complete the night's objectives.

Tips

• Expect a hard game; the maker designed it not to be easy and patched only the worst of the early difficulty.
• Your progress carries over when you install a newer version.
• The maker recommends 4 GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU and a GTX 1660-class graphics card.
