What frightens In 1983, the new night guard at Fredbear's Family Diner watches its halls on flickering cameras while a generator overheats, as Fredbear and Spring Bonnie start to move, possessed by children murdered weeks before; their faces appear in the dark doorway beside your desk.

Content: jumpscares, loud sounds.

A free FNAF fan game by Twisted Mind Games, released in 2023, that its makers call a love letter to the first Five Nights at Freddy's. You are the new night guard at Fredbear's Family Diner in 1983, weeks after a killing spree, watching cameras and a heating generator while the diner's animatronics wake.

About The Return to Bloody Nights

The Return to Bloody Nights is a fan game by Twisted Mind Games (kazovsky and SealDude, with programmer RomanJ), released free on Game Jolt in March 2023 as a rebuilt version of their earlier Bloody Nights at Freddy's. Its makers call it a love letter to the first Five Nights at Freddy's: lore-focused, with simple, old-style night gameplay and a few new mechanics.

It goes back to 1983 and the early days of Fazbear Entertainment, when William Afton and Henry Emily opened Fredbear's Family Diner with Fredbear and Spring Bonnie. One of the two men has lost his sanity and begun killing. You are the security guard hired a few weeks later, and your job, as the nights go on, is to find out what really happened.

Your desk sits in a cramped office with an old monitor, plush toys of the two mascots and a certificate with Afton's name on it. Through the cameras you watch the central hall, the side halls and the parts and service room, and a generator heat gauge rises the more you use the system. A red button glows by the doorway, and sometimes a yellow face is waiting in the dark beside it. Between nights there are 8-bit minigames, cutscenes and, at the end, multiple endings, plus a custom night, challenges and extra locations.

It suits players who follow the FNAF timeline and want a fan game that fills in the diner's years before the first game, played in the first game's spirit.

Tips

  • Do not stay on the cameras so long that the generator overheats.
  • Check the doorway beside the desk often; not everything shows on camera first.
  • Read the notes and watch the cutscenes: the endings depend on the story you uncover.
