About Stone House Orphanage
Stone House Orphanage is a free browser game by pixelb, made for the Two-Minute Horror Jam with music by Eric Matyas. Its premise is short: children are going missing from Stone House, and someone there might have answers.
You are welcomed into the orphanage by a nun and left to look around. The rooms are drawn in the blurry, wobbling textures of PlayStation-era 3D, framed like a camcorder recording with a REC light in the corner: a sitting room with a portrait on the wall, a peeling dormitory with an iron bed and a doll on a shelf, a brick kitchen with pots hanging over the stove.
The fear is quiet and builds from details. You click on paintings, furniture and objects to learn more, and players notice that the Sister does not stay where you left her. The small hints add up toward an ending that many players say made them jump.
It is one of the shorter games on the site, a few minutes from start to finish, and players often wish it were longer. It suits anyone who wants a quick, well-made PS1-style scare.
