The Glitched Attraction is a fan game by PowerLine Studios, a two-person team, released free on Game Jolt in October 2022 and followed by tens of thousands of players there. It is a Windows download of a few gigabytes, built in full 3D, and asks for a fairly modern graphics card.

It does away with the security desk. Each of its six levels is a free-roam escape room built on one of the series' locations, among them the FNAF 4 bedroom, Sister Location and Pizzeria Simulator, and each brings that game's animatronics and a mechanic of its own. In the Nightmares bedroom you search for keys, a locker and a safe against a timer while a grinning Nightmare BB waits in a chair; elsewhere Ballora dances down a corridor of tesla coils, Ennard sets off motion alarms and Molten Freddy crawls out among the barrels.

The levels are tied together by cutscenes and a storyline involving Vanny and Burntrap, with achievements, a model gallery and a Christmas special on the same page. Players have compared it with the official 3D games and praised its variety.

It suits players who want FNAF on foot, with puzzles to solve, rather than another night behind a desk.

How to play The Glitched Attraction

1. Download the free Windows version from the game's Game Jolt page; it needs a modern graphics card.
2. Move with WASD, look with the mouse and press E to interact; Shift moves faster.
3. In each level, search the room for keys, pieces and codes, and work out its mechanic.
4. Keep away from that level's animatronics while you solve it.
5. Escape before time runs out to unlock the next level.

Tips

• Read each level's opening hint: every room plays differently.
• Do not walk into the active tesla coils in Ballora's level.
• Learn where each animatronic patrols before committing to a long search.
