What frightens Scorched, burned-out animatronics break into a family's house over one night; level by level you survive in a dark bedroom, living room, office, basement and attic, watching doorways with a flashlight and listening for them until 6 AM.

Content: jumpscares, loud sounds.

A free Five Nights at Freddy's fan game by Nikson, released on Game Jolt in 2017. Over five levels you play members of one family trying to survive the night in their own home as scorched animatronics close in, each level with its own way to stay alive until 6 AM.

About The Joy of Creation: Story Mode

The Joy of Creation: Story Mode is a fan game by Nikson, the 2017 follow-up to his The Joy of Creation: Reborn, and one of the most followed games on Game Jolt. It is a free Windows download and, unlike most of the classic fan games, it is built in full 3D and asks for a fairly strong PC.

Its story imagines the night of 8 August 2016, just after the second anniversary of Five Nights at Freddy's, when the horror of the series comes into the real world. You play through the eyes of a family trapped in their home as burned, ignited versions of Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy come for them, and you search the house for clues about what happened.

Each of the five levels plays differently. In a child's bedroom a sanity meter falls as the animatronics enter and you have to react to each one; in the living room you move freely and use the television to see through the animatronics' eyes; in the office you manage a generator to power the computer and watch cameras; the basement and attic follow, ending with a chase through a house that burns room by room. In each, the aim is to last until 6 AM.

It has voiced first-person cutscenes and its own soundtrack. It suits FNAF players who want the formula in a 3D house with more variety from night to night.

  3. Watch the doorways with your light and listen for the animatronics moving.
  4. React to each animatronic in the way the level asks, and keep your sanity or power from running out.
  5. Survive until 6 AM to unlock the next level.
