What frightens As the new night guard at Doug's n' Rachel's, you turn around a dark office with a flashlight, a security tablet and doors to close while the restaurant's animatronics roam after hours looking for you; you can lean out, hide, or run to a second room, and the phone call tells you only to make sure they don't find you.

Those Nights at Rachel's is a free 3D Five Nights at Freddy's fan game by Nikson, released on Game Jolt in 2015. As the night guard at Doug's n' Rachel's, you use a security tablet, a flashlight, doors and hiding places to keep its after-hours animatronics from finding you; the page offers the full game, a Hard Edition and the demo.

About Those Nights at Rachel's

Those Nights at Rachel's is a fan game by Nick, known as Nikson, first released on Game Jolt in December 2015. Nikson calls it a tribute to Those Nights at Fredbear's, a fan game that was cancelled, and both are inspired by Five Nights at Freddy's. He went on to make The Joy of Creation games, and he credits Kane Carter, the maker of POPGOES, for general help. Unlike most fan games of its day, it is built in 3D and asks for a fairly decent PC.

You are the new night guard at Doug's n' Rachel's. The welcome is cheerful and full of warnings: you will use the building's accurately placed defenses and scroll through its oh-so-accurate security tablet, and there is one small detail. The animatronics may want to perform after hours, so just make sure they don't find you, like a game of hide and seek.

The play is a night-guard shift with partial free roam. From the office you turn left and right with the keyboard, lean out of the front to look, and use a flashlight on the right mouse button. Turned to one side you can close the doors or hide; turned back you can run to a second room, and back again. The full version adds many mouse controls and a new camera system. The game has new characters, its own mechanics, voice acting by Patrick Richards, a phone call and lore to uncover.

The Game Jolt page offers three downloads: the full game, a Hard Edition with a much higher difficulty, a new look, creepier animatronics and an extra character in the extras menu, and the original two-night demo. A sequel, Those Nights at Rachel's 2, was announced on the page in 2016. It suits players who know Nikson's The Joy of Creation and want the earlier, smaller game that came before it.
