Zoonomaly is made and published by LIGHTS ARE OFF and came out on Steam for Windows in March 2024. It is a nonlinear puzzle horror game: you can take any path through the zoo.

A zoo has been taken over by monsters, and you are sent in at night to find the cause and stop it. The animals are not animals any more: a pale rabbit with a mouth full of teeth, a pair of grinning monkeys at the fence, a cat with huge black eyes, and a long-limbed keeper in a ranger hat who smiles from the zoo's sign. They wander the grounds and cannot be killed. Avoid contact at all costs, the store says; when in doubt, run.

To win you must collect key shards scattered through the zoo, each one inside an animal enclosure behind a puzzle or a maze. Your one tool is the Bloom O'Bang, a deterrent that stops a monster in pursuit for a moment and shows the invisible aura that marks where monsters are. Safe zones give you a breather. Once you have every shard, you can assemble the master key and open the source of the anomalies.

How to play Zoonomaly

1. Buy Zoonomaly on Steam and enter the zoo.
2. Explore the grounds freely and find the animal enclosures.
3. Solve the puzzle or maze in each enclosure to collect its key shard.
4. Use the Bloom O'Bang to stop a monster that is chasing you and to see monster auras, and run to safe zones.
5. Collect every shard, assemble the master key and unlock the source of the monsters.

Tips

• Do not try to fight: the monsters cannot be killed.
• Check the Bloom O'Bang's screen for auras before you walk into a dark area.
• Learn where the safe zones are early.
